Childcare Cooperative in Nablus

In May, we were contacted by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions (PGFTU). Together they were looking to establish a childcare cooperative and nursery in Nablus.

The nursery  is now operational with 4 children registered and more joining in July.

The main aim of the project is to support working women to remain in employment by providing affordable, quality childcare.

DNTA has committed to contribute £700 to help address needs related to equipment, learning materials and the continued development and expansion of services.

The PGFTU, with support from the ILO, is hoping to build on the Nablus experience and replicate similar childcare cooperative models in other parts of the West Bank, extending the benefits to more working families.
