Barriers, blockades, impounds and occupation in the West Bank

A joint STUC fringe meeting hosted by the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) as part of Dundee’s Speak Oot festival.

6:00pm Monday 28th April, Queens Hotel, Nethergate, Dundee.

Speakers: Colin Brown (FBU), Dr Amina (Health Workers for Palestine) & Mary McGregor (DNTA)

Join us to discuss the increasing violence being inflicted across Palestine’s West Bank and ongoing efforts to release humanitarian aid donations impounded by the Israeli authorities.

The FBU have been involved in over 40 years of solidarity with the Palestinian people including taking the first motion to the TUC demanding recognition of the national rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination with an independent sovereign state.

Doctor Amina will discuss the situation faced by medical professionals living and working in Palestine. The massacre of 15 ambulance and rescue workers in Gaza received international coverage in early April. Medical staff and medical facilities are facing daily attacks across Palestine

Mary McGregor will talk about DNTA’s campaign to raise funds for tuition fees for student nurses & midwives in Nablus and for medical equipment in Askar Refugee Camp.
