Setting up Google alerts

Many of us find it helpful to ask Google to email us every day with news of Nablus. You can tailor this to your requirements and cancel it at any time. Here's how you do it.

1. Go to Google

Use your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) to go to: google.co.uk/alerts

2. Set up the search:

Type Nablus as the subject of your alerts:

Create an alert about ...

Then enter your email address:

Show options
Enter email
CREATE ALERT

3. If you want to change any setting:

Click on Show options

At most once a day (or weekly if you prefer)
How often:
Automatic
Sources:
English
Language:
Any region
Region:
Only the best results (or as you prefer)
How many:

Then enter your email address:

Hide options
Enter email
CREATE ALERT

4. Modify or cancel

After you press CREATE ALERT you will receive a daily/weekly list of items about Nablus. This gives a brief summary and a link to stories in world newspapers which mention Nablus.

If you want to cancel or modify the alerts just press the Manage your alerts button.

5. Notes

  • If there is no mention of Nablus any day then you will not get an email (so you can set up links which rarely produce any result - such as an alert for "DNTA").
  • You can set up several alerts at the same time.
  • You can cancel the alert whenever you want.
