Abertay and An Najah universities sign cooperation agreement
November 2011
The University of Abertay Dundee has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with An Najah National University in Nablus. This is great news for the development of the long-standing twinning between these two cities.
The Memorandum of Understanding will facilitate collaboration between the two universities in the areas of Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Studies, Computing and International Business Studies.
It will enable students from An-Najah to complete part of their studies in Dundee. It is hoped that students from Abertay will be able to travel to Nablus and study for part of their course at An Najah National University. In addition to students, there should be opportunities for an exchange of staff between the two universities.
The formal signing of the agreement was made in London at a fund-raising event on 19th November 2011 organised by Friends of An-Najah University (a registered Scottish charity). It was signed on behalf of An Najah by its President Professor Rami Hamdallah and for Abertay by Dr Phillip Collier.
